Active Monitoring

Oberon uses Dot11 Monitor to log device signal level and connectivity over time. Problems in device connectivity can be traced to actual RF signal level reception. Dot11 Monitor can be set up for both internal monitoring, or externally by Oberon through Oberon's Remote Maintenance program.

PMI - Preventive Maintenance Inspections/ IP Network Testing

To ensure optimal performance and reliability with installed wireless networks, on-site preventive maintenance inspections are scheduled with the Oberon Wireless team and the Information Technology staff. Onsite services performed include the following tasks:

• Access Point Inspection, consisting of upgrading software and firmware, check antenna mounting, connectors and orientation, frequency plan, documentation.
• Wireless Coverage Certification- verification of RF signal level coverage. Coverage check includes check on RF interference with recorded frequency and channel.
• Continuity Check , checks performed through each Access Point from client to host server through router configuration. Test results show non-isolated or overloaded networks, routers, switch ports. Check verifies and reports on network broadcasts or frame level errors. Oberon uses IxChariot by Ixia for IP network testing.
• Client Inspection and Training, customer is trained on updating up to (5) of each type of device; Radio Drivers, BIOS, Power Management, Radio Test, Cleaning, AP configuration and diagnostics.
